As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be providing wholesale food services to childcare and educational institutions across South Western Ontario. This role is primarily new business development with minimal warm leads supplied. This is a replacement position and will be reporting directly to the President of the company. The base salary is $70,000 -$85,000  plus commissions. 

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: 

• $70,000 to $85,000 Base Salary, plus commission
• OTE in the first year is $100,000 +

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY: 

• Head Office - Vaughn Ontario
• Work Model: Field-based with flexibility to work from home
• The sales territory covers the Greater Toronto Area, extending from Niagara Falls to Barrie in the north, Oshawa in the east, and Hamilton in the west
• Full-time - Monday to Friday (some evenings and weekends required

 

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

• 3+ years of sales experience
• Experience in selling food services an asset
• Experience selling to daycare networks would be beneficial
• Strong communication skills 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS: 

• Excel - Basic
• PowerPoint - Basic
• MS Word - Basic

 

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION

• Wholesale Food Services including fresh produce, grocery, baked goods, meat/poultry, disposable, Janitorial and stationary products

 

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKER(S): 

• Daycare, child care, and education institutions

 

SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE

• Average order size: $1500 per order
• Average yearly revenue by customer: $80,000+
• Average length of the sales cycle: 2-3 weeks 

 

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES: 

• White-glove service where drivers deliver not only groceries but also stock kitchens, rotate products and manage the entire food procurement process

 

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES: 

• 70% New Business Development
• 20% Account Management
• 10% Administrative Duties 

 

LEADS: 

• 100% Prospecting/Cold Calling 

 

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL: 

• Less than 10%

 

SUPPORT & TRAINING: 

• Job Shadowing
• Mentoring
• 1 -2 weeks of sales training
• 1 - 2 weeks of technical training
• Within 2 - 3 weeks you will be selling to clients
