The opportunity.
Do you enjoy connecting with people? Are you energized by innovation? Does your idea of success look like being a subject matter expert, offering helpful solutions, and fostering client and revenue growth? Thank goodness. We need you on our team!
Star® Roses and Plants is a leader in the horticulture industry. As a Territory Sales Representative, you have access to our full portfolio of proprietary plant genetics, including household name brands like The Knock Out® Family of Roses. Your potential sales revenue from roses, woody ornamentals and edibles, and perennials is bolstered by over 100 suppliers. The sky’s the limit!
Does this sound like you?
You dislike sitting in an office all day and jump at opportunities to network and build relationships with prospective and current customers. You have a passion for plants and enjoy being on the road. Having the freedom to manage your own client base, portfolio, and business and production plans is important to you, and you are always on the cutting edge when it comes to new products. You’re experienced navigating the full sales process, from prospecting and identifying customer needs, to providing product solutions, closing sales, and offering follow-up communication.
Customers enjoy working with you because you always have their best interest in mind and sell from a place of expertise, getting the right plants to the right people. Your assigned customer service representative feels this way too, so you’ll be a great team working to grow business and offer technical support to growers and licensees.
You’re also a rock star collaborator, which is a good thing because you’ll be interacting with quite a few departments at Star®, including sales (go team), supply (the wind beneath your wings), marketing (trade shows, sales tools), and the rose and woody portfolio managers (the experts). Also, finance–sometimes you’ll come in clutch to resolve customer credits or collections. During shipping season, you’ll coordinate with our team located in Dinuba, CA.
A few logistics.
Speaking of California, you’ll be traveling regionally and nationally 50–75% of your time. Whether making daily site visits to customers in your territory, attending corporate and regional trade shows, or meeting with colleagues at our main offices in West Grove, PA, each day is a new opportunity to bring the best products to your customers. You can expect some long travel days in vehicles and airplanes and should be comfortable with site visits that include walking and standing for several hours and being in the elements outdoors.
As a company, we do collaborate virtually quite a bit, so you should be tech savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office and Teams.
