About the Role
We’re currently seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join our growing sales team and serve a key regional territory (Greater Milwaukee). This role blends relationship-building, technical consultation, and business development to drive value for customers and meet HA International’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory; recommend specific action plans to expand market share.
- Manage and grow assigned national and regional accounts; cultivate relationships with key decision-makers.
- Deliver product presentations, technical support, and on-site demonstrations to foundry customers.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams (technical, logistics, customer service, etc.).
- Communicate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines clearly and effectively.
- Submit strategic plans, account activity updates, and sales performance summaries to management.
- Organize and execute technical seminars, customer meetings, and trade show participation as needed.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements.
- Complete weekly expense reports, itineraries, and CRM updates.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Not applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a technical field (e.g., Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) preferred.
- 1–3 years of technical sales or industrial marketing experience required.
- Knowledge of foundry and metal casting processes is required; prior experience selling to the foundry, metalworking, or industrial chemicals industries is a strong plus.
- Proven track record of prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills with measurable results.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage a multi-state territory and travel independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with SAP and CRM systems is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a driving record background check.
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment
The work environment will be a combination of a home office environment and an industrial environment when visiting our facilities, customers, or suppliers. While at industrial sites, the role involves frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration and loud noises. Appropriate PPE such as gloves, hardhats, safety glasses, and safety boots must be worn as required. Inability to work safely around chemicals or use PPE may be disqualifying.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to work in confined spaces and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Extended periods of sitting, driving, and standing are expected. The role also requires being fit for a respirator and other PPE. Work may occasionally take place in hot or cold weather conditions (customer sites).
Travel
Remote-based. Wisconsin and parts of Illinois. This position will travel within a territory. Only candidates residing within the assigned territory will be considered (i.e., Southeastern WI). Travel is required up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays.
