Mind Computing is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our team supporting The Department of Veterans Affairs. Our client is modernizing a critical business application. Activities include application migration, application sustainment, refactoring, all performed according to agile principles. The Junior Software Developer will work closely with Senior Developers to provide planning, requirements analysis and design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and administrative services for application development efforts. The ideal candidate for this position has 5 years of experience in .NET web development including C#.NET; ASP.NET; HTML; CSS; XML; JavaScript; JQuery, AJAX; interface design; IIS, MS Visual Studio IDE; and relational databases such as MS SQL Server, or My SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, testing, and deploying software applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable code under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Participate in code reviews and team stand-ups.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and contribute to quality assurance.
  • Participate in project planning/estimation with project managers.
  • Convert and integrate data and content for use in databases.
  • Stay abreast of current technology and seek out new tools that can be utilized appropriately.
  • Make suggestions that improve programming techniques, applications, documentation, and client deliverables.
  • Engage in problem definition and solution implementation according to client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with databases, version control (Git), and fundamental algorithms/data structures.
  • Experience with the following skill sets: AJAX, Restful Web Services, ASP .NET (C#).

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with web or mobile development frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud services or CI/CD tools.
  • Microsoft SQL Server, server views and stored procedures
  • Microsoft ASP.Net MVC version 4 using JavaScript
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Programming modules created using C#
  • Experience working on federal government projects.
  • Ability to hold a security clearance.
